How do you define Kindness?
Kindness is an operating system that we choose. Similar to the view of an optimist, a realist or a pessimist, it’s a filter through which we interact with the world around us. Operating through kindness means living ones life with empathy, thoughtfulness, and deep consideration for those both near and far.
Why is Kindness important?
Looking at the question slightly differently, it’s not that kindness is important, it’s that the absence of kindness is terrifying. The absence of kindness results in cold and isolating world without community or kinship. The absence of kindness slows our society, holding back the progress of good faith collaboration, and powers of human connection. Kindness is important, because without it we step closer to failure.
What is the role of Kindness in the workplace?
Kindness should be our expected norm within the workplace. It serves as a safety net allowing people to take risks, be bold, and strive for greater things, knowing that the kindness of their peers will catch them if they fall. Kindness is the root of trust, and trust is what powers our organizations forward.
